A Guiding Light
Throughout my journey, mentorship has been my guiding light. Whether I was naming a local statue in elementary school, building my confidence in sports and refining my creativity through acting and singing in high school, navigating college as a first-generation student, growing into leadership positions at Fortune 500 companies, or exploring new design disciplines, I leaned on others to be my lighthouse as I navigated new horizons.
By the Numbers
Seeing the profound impact mentorship has had in my own journey, I've dedicated myself to creating that same impact in the lives of others. The result? 294+ sessions and over 10,500 minutes of mentoring, guiding others on resumes, portfolios, and design career paths, with a 95% average mentee attendance rate and 100% ratings in communication, problem solving, motivation, and subject knowledge.
The Recognition
I'm excited to announce I've been named one of ADPList's 100 Most Influential Mentors of 2024. The ADPList100 is ADPList's annual list of the mentors who shaped the community most, selected from mentors worldwide, and out of a global community spanning every design discipline, seeing my name on that list stopped me for a second.
ADPList is a global community where over one million people learn and grow with volunteer mentors, and this recognition is awarded based on verified mentorship activity in the community. It's a recognition of every session, every mentee who trusted me with where they were stuck, and every conversation that turned into someone's next step forward.
Thank you to the ADPList team and Felix Lee for building such an impactful platform for mentorship.
Closing
May the work I've done for others speak for me.
Update, June 2025: Since this was first posted, ADPList's community has recognized me twice more with Top 50 Mentor honors, in March and June 2025. Grateful this keeps going.
